HISTORY of So Easy Rider
1997 invention of the first GPS mount for motorbike, invented by Fabrice MEDLEGEIn 1997, the first design of SO EASY RIDER was integrated to the left sleeve of a jacketfor adapt a PALM PDA, keys and garage remote.At that moment, its inventor Fabrice MEDLEGE was recognysed as a good projectmarketing manager specialized in the new technologies. He worked for BOOSTERCOM (a ZDNET company), the first french company in chargeof the marketing for the new tech devices and the NET ECONOMY.Fabrice has been in charge to promote AOL in France, but also POKEMON on Nintendo 64,Microsoft Encarta, Age of Empire...In 1998, MICROSOFT FRANCE prefered to integrated Fabrice as theirHome and Entertainement marketing manager. In 2000 the first patent filing.At that moment, Fabrice was the MICROSOFT marketing manager in charge ofthe transition of Windows CE to Pocket PC and should adapt the mobile OS to a largerpublic. Himself a biker in Paris, he created a mobile case for adapt his Compaq IPAQ onhis Kawasaki ZZR600. He tried to get guide by some TomTom raster maps that he shouldcut on computer then export inside the PDA... It was OFFLINE maps without anyGPS processor.
Lex System another invention of Fabrice MEDLEGEThanks to the help of Microsoft, Fabrice created his own Microsoft certified formationcenter, with the first branch specialized in marketing. He obtain the interministerialagreement and works almost 2 years for the french goverment (like boosting some frenchregions thanks to the web for exemple). The Ministry of Tourism bought the whole Fabriceactivities in 2005.With his first big check, the motorbike passionate created XTREAM WEARTHER,a brand of biker jackets with patents (LEX SYSTEM) Fabrice believed that jackets will bemore easy than So Easy Rider about patent protection, so he switched his initial launches.It was a big mistake because the copies of his patent came very fast from existant andknew big brands, he lost almost all his money with attorneys and slow justice system. The patents of jackets have been sold to Motoblouz.com, and with this fresh money,Fabrice ran in China for created the first production line for So Easy Rider and changed hisstrategy of patent protection and decided to offer OEM licences from the beginning. For reach his goals, Fabrice sold some shares to SHENGLI LEI, his best friend in businessand the production manager of the company.Shengli made possible for XTREAM WEARTHER to enter in the factory cooperativeGLOBAL DRAGON ELECTRONICS Limited (GDE Group), for avoid to pay stock offirst material and samples in advance. The saved money helped to pay marketing and ads in 18 countries.
Asus and so easy rider2006 is the big launch but at that moment, the PDA are almost knew, the GPS are newand too thick and the internet market is still fragile. At that moment, the job was toconvainc the public to place a GPS case on their handlebar. Fabrice asked the help of aold friend from Microsoft, Bernard CHU, who was at that moment the CEO of ASUS.Bernard and Fabrice, created the first PDA for motorbike in the world.The world press diffused the news in 80 countries, and the business started.Fabrice invented and created several products, like the first earphones for bikers,the So Easy Power battery, the first software for plan rides and export it inside the GPS,the AIR TUBE system earphone for devices without any audio output...The French TomTom distribution channel (AVESTA) directed by Laurent MARCEROU,decided to include the Fabrice range in his catalogue, and So Easy Rider was distributedalmost everywhere a TomTom GPS was sold. It was a huge profitable success. Fabrice and his chinese partner Shengli bought their own factory and small building inSHENZHEN for produce more and faster.The company needed money for its development. The first leverage was a successwith 2.5M€ invested by BNP PARIBAS but it was the economic crisis at that moment.At the start of 2009, a simple dispute between 2 bankers canceled the leverage andthe XTREAM WEARTHER has been canceled as trusted bank account at the samemoment. This bank mistake obligated to Fabrice and his team to close the company ina very short time for avoid the bankrupt.Fabrice moved his patents in a Canadian Company, WIKIMOBI inc. and moved in Toronto.
Ibike rider history2009-2010 The end of 2009 has been a great year for Wikimobi inc.Fabrice created the first motorbike wired handsfree kit, IBIKE RIDER.The product came 4 times cheaper that a Bluetooth headset.The success has been immediat. Wikimobi sold 900 unit the first day on their onlineboutique. The orders came from all over the world. Fabrice also invest money and time in www.snooper-la-boutique.com andbecame the first french seller of GPS for trucks and RV.
2010-2013 The cruise period. Different versions of So Easy Rider and iBike Rider are launched,included the first iPhone mount in the world. It was also an IBIKE RIDER product.WIkimobi inc. split the GPS range (So Easy Rider) andthe smartphone one (IBIKE RIDER).During this time, Fabrice and Victor’s skills of manufacturing met a good success andthey started to sell their services to big brands, like Apple/Foxconn (3 millions cases-manufactured by year), Disney, Wallmart, Coyote System,Yupiteriu in Japan... Personnal life :Several dramas in a very short time struggled Fabrice in his personnal life andthe So Easy Rider distribution is almost avoid for stay close of his family and keep focuson his factory productions and investments. Time flies, then Fabrice and Victor get kids and enjoyed the results of their hard workcumulated during the last 10 years without any free time and leisure.

2014-2015 Fabrice and Victor sold their factory shares to the GDE Group for getting back inforce on the motorbike market. They closed the direct sales online boutique of So Easy Rider for open a new one dedicated to the wholesellers only. Fabrice created a new range of mounts for GPS and Smartphones/Phablets basedon the famous sport camera system. They are just keeping focus on the international sales and the distribution of the So Easy Rider range. The market is now mature. A biker need each day to use his smartphone, for received calls, be guided by a navigation app or to be alertin live of the radars or danger zone. People are now entering in a motorbike shop and ask «Do you have a So Easy Rider ?», that’s great, but the seller will offer him a copy. So Easy Rider became a generic name. Fabrice and his team are decided to continue to develop So Easy Rider in the world.The new website offer to wholesellers to order samples and place their orders directlyat any time despite the time zone area.
